Lynn was born on October 15th, 1908. Lynn's father was Harold Gregory and his mother was Mary Louise Greenslade. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin W Gregory FRAS and Harriet Gregory; his maternal grandparents were Charles William Greenslade and Minnie (Mary) Cook Greenslade. He had a sister named Doreen. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 36 on July 25th, 1945. His burial was in Little Rissington Churchyard.

Death Notes
- aged 37. Plane crashed in training flight accident at Enford ranges, Wiltshire. Took off from Boscombe Down.
  Hawker Tempest Mk V serial NV946 stalled at 1115 hours after firing several rockets from 1500ft in a steep 40 deg dive as part of a firing test to check rocket tail clearance using zero length launchers. Aircraft went into a stall during a banking turn to port, flipping over befotre hitting the ground at 400 mph and exploding in flames.
  Commemorated at the RAF plot at Little Rissington and on the Roll of Honour for old boys of Central School (now preserved at Bournside School)

  Royal Air Force. Only son. married Betty Hemming Jan 1936
  Educated at St Paul's Practising School and at the Central School between 1919 and 1923 leaving at the age of 16 to commence an RAF apprenticeship. Served in Iraq, Egypt and India, qualifying in 1933 as a Sergeant Pilot and Instructor at no. 10 Flying School, Ternhill, Staffordshire. Played for Cheltenham Tennis Club. Commissioned in 1937 and specialised later as an armaments officer. Sent in 1939 to Iraq and took part, in 1941, in the defence of the Habbaniyah RAF base during the Raschid Ali insurrection. Then served in east Africa for 18 months at Air Headquarters. In Sept 1943 posted to the Ministry of Aircraft Production in London and, in 1945, to the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment at Martlesham Heath
